Auf der letzten Nokia World im Jahr 2013 in Abu Dhabi, gab Nokia ( nun Microsoft Mobile) bekannt, dass der bekannt Reader Flipboard demnächst auf Windows Phone verfügbar sein wird. Fast ein Jahr später ist es nun fast soweit.
Ich muss sagen, dass ich den Hype um Flipboard bis heute nicht verstehen kann. Für mich handelt es sich bei FlipBoard nur um einen weiteren RSS Reader. Diese Flip Animation wirft mich jetzt nicht wirklich vom Stuhl. Gestern war fast soweit, dass nach fast einem Jahr Flipboard für Windows Phone verfügbar ist.
Es gab einen Link zum Store, in dem man die Flipboard App auch herunterladen konnte. Allerdings war es wohl nur eine Testversion. Flipboard hat sich dazu geäußert :
This is not the official release. That was an early, incomplete build staged on the store as a placeholder. We may have removed it
We have been working with the team at Microsoft to launch on the new phones, including the Lumia 830 and other high-end phones. We had staged Flipboard in the Windows Phone store in preparation for the launch, but had wanted to fix a few bugs before officially releasing. That said, we do expect to officially be live in the Windows Store and announce Flipboard for Windows Phones very soon. The placeholder lets us test the app as we prepare for an upcoming launch as well as fix some bugs of the preloaded version of Flipboard.
Es handelt hier also um einen Platzhalter, wann genau Flipboard verfügbar sein wird, ist nicht bekannt. Es wird wie immer nur von „very soon“ geredet. Sobald die App verfügbar ist, findet Ihr sie hier.
Sollte sich was bezüglich des Releasedatums tun, werde ich den Artikel updaten. Bis dahin heißt es Abwarten.
